ShipStreak streak rules
2 min read
ShipStreak is a public shipping habit, not a private journal. The rules are short on purpose so the record stays believable.

The daily rule
Ship one public update every calendar day in your timezone.
That update is a check-in on ShipStreak: 1 to 3 bullets, then you copy the post wherever you already publish. ShipStreak does not auto-post to X, Threads, or LinkedIn.
Quiet day? Use Just showed up. It still counts as shipping. It is not a free miss.
One grace
Every streak gets exactly one grace day, whether it is Free (7 days) or Pro (up to 180).
The first miss without pausing consumes grace. The streak continues. The gap stays on your public calendar.
Miss again after grace and the streak ends.
Longer streaks do not get more grace. Softening longer runs would make the long ones less honest, not more impressive.
No backlog, no backdating
You cannot fill yesterday later. You cannot buy a catch-up slot. You cannot quietly delete a bad week.
If the calendar lets you rewrite history, it is not a streak. It is a draft.
Pause vs grace
Pause is intentional. Turn it on before you would miss. It freezes the window (up to 7 days per challenge).
Grace is reactive. One automatic mulligan when a day slips.
Prefer pause on purpose over burning grace by accident.
What stays public when you fail
The gap on the calendar stays. The failed run moves to the graveyard on your public profile.
Bullets and generated post text stay private in your dashboard. Visitors see that you shipped, or that you did not. That public cost is the product.
Rare exception: if your only streak ever is a failed first streak, you may get a one-time offer to hide that single graveyard entry and start fresh. After that, fails stay.
Free vs Pro (rules-wise)
Same honesty model on both:
- Free: one active streak, fixed 7 days.
- Pro: longer runs, more parallel streaks, tones, stats, analytics, optional custom domain.
Still one grace per challenge. Still no backlog.
Why these rules exist
Private streaks let you quit. Public ones with soft resets let you perform honesty without paying for it.
ShipStreak encodes the unforgiving version so a finished week means something when someone opens your link.
